We’re making another claim about Kununurra, well…. Actually about the East Kimberley. Lake Argyle specifically. The most REWARDING adventure course in Australia!
It’s that time of year again – it’s the Lake Argyle Adventure Race time and it’s set to be another cracker. What makes the Lake Argyle Adventure Race the most rewarding in the country? It’s a combination of four things.
- The Stunning waters of Lake Argyle
- The awesome Carr Boyd ranges that surround Lake Argyle
- The inclusiveness of the event
- The celebration dinner that follows!
I’ll explain reasons one and two with pictures because there is no better way to describe the beautiful backdrop of the swimming, paddling, running and cycling. There’s nothing like looking up at sheer, Kimberley-orange cliffs and deep blue fresh water to power through your endurance.
Inclusiveness – are you a gung-ho competitive soloist? You’ll be satisfied with the Swim 2km, paddle 13km, adventure traverse 6km, mountain bike 21km adventure race combination set out. Want to see what the bike track looks like? Check out this awesome Lake Argyle Mountain Bike Track
Perhaps you’re keen on getting involved but can’t even begin to imagine that kind of endurance? Never fear, there are relay options including teams of 2, 3 or 4 in the 2km swim, 9km run, 32km mountain bike and 7km paddle.
Got a family and want everyone, even the kids to get active? Entry is Free for all Junior solo's and Teams! There are two age classes and they are -
6-8 years: 40m pool swim, 700m run, 1500m cycle.
9-13 years: 250m lake swim, 1km run, 2.4km cycle.
And then it all comes together with a collective dinner celebration afterwards at the Lake Argyle Resort & Caravan Park alfresco restaurant.
