Family Friendly Things to Do in Kununurra

Years ago I met a family who were doing “The Great Lap of Australia”, chatting away to the family I curiously asked the young girl, who was probably about eight years old; “Tell me – of all the places you’ve seen around Australia and all the things you’ve done – what’s been the BEST thing about it ?" The girl’s eyebrows burrowed in concentration an...

When is the best time to visit Kununurra and The Kimberley?

There’s a saying in the Northern Territory that we like to borrow, “Never visit the Top End in a month with R in it”. We can confirm that May, June, July and August are most definitely our most popular visitors’ months. Contrary to that though…. When you ask when the locals' favourite time of year an unequivocal “Wet Season” jumps out of their m...

What Our Guests Are Saying

Had the unpowered site right next to the lagoon which was amazing. The croc seems to be coming up to say hello every afternoon. Amenities were good, especially the camp kitchen (very clean), ablution blocks were ok but a bit old. There’s a cafe, we didn’t try it but seemed busy when we left. Loads of birds so be careful with leaving things outside. We would come back.

An enjoyable stay at a well-run holiday park. The waterfront cabins offer a superb view of Lake Kununurra and wetland birdlife. The staff are helpful, friendly and polite, including the groundsmen. Facilities are clean and the amenities are great. Highly recommend.

Stayed there a few nights ago after finishing the Gibb River Road. Nice park and good amenities with very friendly and helpful staff. The ground staff recognised we were very dirty and dusty asked if we wanted to use the fresh lake water to wash car and van on site. Said we could use as much as we want, it helped keep any dust down and helped keep the grass green.
